Dear Bengali Community of Greater Philadelphia,
It brings me great pleasure to announce the end of our Charity drives. I would like to thank you all for donating with an open heart. I would also like to thank the youth volunteers who generously donated their time to help us make our food donations a success.
Lastly, I would like to thank the Charity committee, led by Sunanda Banerjee and Sharmila Gupta, for their contribution in relentlessly pursuing the cause of Pragati as a non-profit organization where we preach the motto of “helping the needy in times of need”.
Together, they put together a great effort by calling on their personal contacts to generate funds, organized distribution drives involving PRAGATI youth volunteers, and generated a massive $11,350.00 for Charity.
This year, the Pragati Charity Committee committed to the COVID drive in the USA and the Amphan Drive in Kolkata, India. Here is the breakup of how this fund was distributed:
